Three rings for the Unicorns, Immortal and Wise. Seven for the Earth Ponies in their halls of Stone. Nine for the Peagsi, damned to die. One ring for the Nightmare on her Dark Throne In the Land of Everfree where Shadows Lie. One ring to rule them all One Ring to find them all One ring to find them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Everfree where Shadows lie
I'm sorry, when i saw Nightmare Moon with that glowing ring on her finger, i just HAD to make the LoTR creed changed up a bit to fit the MLPverse.
THIS... is great! do you have this as a wallpaper too? I really love the background and the Shadowbolt. Twilight looks great too. Nightmare Moon looks a bit... to...animated? You know, that 3D Forced animation, which collides with the rest. But overall it is great!
Iīll try to explain.... you know, there are some CGI animated series out there. Like the new turtles cartoon or Transformers Prime. Nightmare Moonīs Face (Mouth, Eyes, Helmet) and her Hand reminds me of that, while the surrounding background and the other characters look perfectly handdrawn. Sorry, maybe itīs just me, but this part just looks... wrong to me.
Excellent pic, my friend! I like th female Shadowbolt as well as NMM, but it's the expression on the enslaved Twilight that REALLY grabbed and wrenched my heart. With that ring on her horn, as well, as her tears, you can tell that she ISN'T serving NMM willingly.
Another thing that I wonder about is...what happened to Applejack, Rainbow, Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy after they all failed to stop the Villianess of the Night? Not sure I really WANT to know, but I bet they suffered a similar fate to Twi's...enslave ment (or worse). One thing I'm PRETTY sure of: I bet Sweet Apple Acres (or any OTHER farms) hasn't survived total night.
Hmmm, that gives me a bit of an idea. If I ever get the bits, and you get the time, I might wind up commissioning you to do a series of pics dealing with just that. Whatta ya think? Could ya do it if you were up to it?
Quick question (I'm full of 'em at times): You mentioned that the commissioner of this pic is called "Zaq". Would you know how I could get hold of him (does he have a page here, or on Tumblr, where I could contact him TO ask about the story concerning this pic, and also to ask HIS permission about commissioning a pic (or two) about the REST of the Mane 6 to go with this? Because I would DEFINITELY love to know the story, AND to be able to commission you for this.
Er, ONCE get the money, AND his permission, that is.
you sir are on some whole new level of awesome, THAT you probably already know by now! your shading is something i would love to learn someday. and when i do get a paypal ill be asking you for something with those ladies XDD
Very nice, might be one of your best pieces I've seen. A very great work, showing off the villain very well, and I really like Nightmare Moon's armor, and outfit design. You also did a great job on her flowing magical mane, and tail, and those help make her look more powerful, and menacing. The glowing ring on her finger looks great to.
You do very good somewhat-anthro pony designs to, very well detailed. I like how you make them a li'l bit more cartoonishly-proportioned, and keep their feet as hooves to.
I really like the sad expression on Twilight, and the way you drew her face real adorable. The tears, and the way she's hugging her scrolls does help tug at your heartstrings a bit, giving some more emotion here. I also like her cloak.
The background is very good, the detail is excellent, the cracks on the floor tiles, the broken window, with the visible castle towers are a nice touch. I especially like the red glow reflecting off the light shining through the red-tinted broken window glass on the floor. You really do pay attention to detail.
I really love those who take the time and wander around one image and try to spot new things, I appriciate your comments
About the anthro thing: Many people hate, many (as I see) likes this style, the reason of the hands are: expressions. I wouldn't draw anthro with hooves as hands, they are silly, if they are walking in 2 legs why not fingers, they even wear completely human clothes too But the hooves... You don't do much with your feet but moving, except when you pick up a sock from the floor ^^
I tryed the magical mane thing on my first Luna picture, and now alicorn again
It's got a very Lord of the Rings feel to it, with an 80's villain twist. Gloomy corrupted castle in the dead of night, with its ruler gloating over her newfound power and dominance over her greatest enemy... brilliant stuff.
